What do the colours you surround yourself with say about you?

Colours are all around us, but what do certain colours stand for?
Our colour preferences are the key to understanding our personalities and can have a profound effect on our mood as well as our levels of energy. From the colour in your bedroom to the colour of the car you drive can say a lot about your personality.
It is surprising the way different colours can play such an important role in our everyday lives. And although there is no proof that people react in a certain way to certain colours there is no doubt that certain colours do tend to elicit certain emotions, moods and feelings.
BLACK: Black is a mysterious colour and often associated with fear and the unknown. Often people wear black to make themselves look thinner, It is the symbol of grief and is often considered as Dignified and impressive without being to showy. Those that wear too much Black could find they struggle with depression and mood swings and often create a negative environment. Combined with white it can create an argumentative atmosphere. You should mix other colours with black to help lighten and brighten its energy.
BLUE: Blue the colour of the sky and ocean. It is considered to be beneficial to the mind and body and has a natural calming effect; Blue is often used in bedrooms to help with sleep. Those that like to wear a lot of Blue are usually quite compassionate and caring they like to be admired for their wisdom and steady character. Light blue is most associated with health, healing and tranquillity whilst dark blue is more of a masculine colour associated with depth, representing knowledge, power and integrity.
PURPLE: According to a survey almost 75% of children prefer the colour purple to all other colours. So if you want to promote children’s products this would be the perfect colour to use. Some adults consider the colour purple to be artificial due to it being such a rare colour in nature. Purple is often associated with royalty, wisdom, dignity, independence, creativity, mystery, and magic. and often symbolizes wealth and money. Those that wear a lot of purple are usually highly individual, witty and sensitive; they can be extremely artistic and often use sarcasm when they feel they have been misunderstood.
RED: The colour of fire and blood, Red is a bright and bold colour often associated with danger, strength, power, determination as well as passion, desire and love. Red is usually chosen by people with open and uncomplicated natures, and a zest for life. Those that like to wear red a lot can come across as aggressive and quite impulsive they can sometimes be a little quick to judge people and easily take sides. You should wear red whenever you feel the need to portray confidence too much however can make a person come across too intimidating.
A red carpet or wall at home or a place of business will draw money. Using the colour red well can make a space warm and cosy, if used too much however it can make a space look smaller and make you feel claustrophobic.
